Simon Pegg has Said that a ‘Spaced’ Reunion Will Never Happen

Spaced (1999)

Simon Pegg has definitively answered the question of whether ‘Spaced’ will return to our screens and the odds are not likely.

For anyone who missed out, Spaced was a British comedy that first aired in 1999. It revolves around a comic book artist who has just broken up with the love of his life and teams up with an aspiring writer in order to get by.

Since the show ended in 2001, fans have been wondering if a reunion is on the cards. Simon Pegg has now responded to the question in an interview with NME and has confidently answered: “That question will never go away. The more they ask, the less likely it is.”

He then added that there would be no point in doing a reunion series and that the show couldn’t exist again because it was about “a group of twenty-somethings at the turn of the century.”

“I dunno what I have to say that’s relatable about life now. It’s not gonna happen, kids – unless you want a sitcom about some clueless actor who can’t tie his own shoelaces.”

That’s the end of that fantasy then.
