What We Do in the Shadows is officially coming back for its sixth season, but this will also mark the end of the road for our favorite Staten Island vampire. FX’s beloved horror-comedy will officially end its run with its upcoming sixth season.

What We Do in the Shadows did an amazing job continuing the story of Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement’s hit 2014 film but with a fun new twist. Instead of bringing the old characters back, the FX series introduced us to a brand-new group of vampires, living in New York City’s Staten Island.

Over the course of the past five seasons, we’ve watched Nandor the Relentless (Kayvan Novak), Leslie “Laszlo” Cravensworth (Matt Berry), Nadja of Antipaxos (Natasia Demetriou), and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) trying to live their best, most bloodthirsty lives in NYC while dealing with both the complexities with the modern world and other supernatural creatures.

Since its premiere in 2019, What We Do in the Shadows has become a hit with fans and critics alike and received 21 Emmy nods, including two for the outstanding comedy series. Unfortunately, its last season experienced a significant 35% dip in viewership, but FX didn’t comment if this contributed to its sudden cancelation.
