“Skins” Cast: Where are they now?

Skins made its debut in the UK over 10 years ago and the original cast, then 16, are now all grown up. While some of them fell out of an acting career, several members of the original Skins cast when onto become successful Hollywood actors. Here is a list of some of the most notable names which arose from the series.

Dev Patel aka Anwar

After his role in the first generation of Skins as Anwar, Patel starred in Slumdog Millionaire earning him a nomination for a BAFTA. Since then he has also appeared in M. Night Shyamalan’s fantasy The Last Airbender and a role on HBO’s The Newsroom. He recently received the first Skins Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor after his role in critically acclaimed film Lion.

Joe Dempsie aka Chris

Dempsie has appeared in BBC’s Doctor Who and Merlin but is now a recurring character on Game of Thrones as Gendry.

Nicholas Hoult aka Tony

Hoult was already a star before Skins, most famously appearing in About a Boy with Hugh Grant in 2002. More recently, Hoult has appeared in the X-men franchise as the young Beast. He also appeared in Mad Max: Fury Road.

Hannah Murray aka Cassie

Murray also appeared in Game of Thrones, as the troubled Gilly. She also starred in the big screen murder movie The Chosen.

Kaya Scodelario aka Effy

Scodelario has appeared in the most episodes of Skins from as her character appeared in both the first and second generation. Since her role as Effy Stonem in season 4, she has appeared in several British films including Wuthering Heights. She also starred in the sci-fi thriller The Maze Runner.
