Slow Horses has given us one amazing season after another, and it will soon make the Apple TV+ history. The British spy drama has been renewed for its sixth season, becoming the streaming giant’s first original series to run for more than five seasons.
Slow Horses stars Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, the eccentric head of Slough House, a dumping ground department of MI5, where agents are sent due to their career-ending mistakes. In addition to Oldman in the lead role, the cast of this series also includes Jack Lowden, Kristin Scott Thomas, Jonathan Pryce, Christopher Chung, Rosalind Eleazar, and Saskia Reeves.
Jay Hunt, creative director for Apple TV+ in Europe, confirmed the show’s renewal and promised another explosive chapter of this story.
“Audiences around the world have fallen in love with the Slow Horses, and I’m delighted that Gary Oldman will be leading this star-studded cast on another acerbic and action-packed adventure,” said Hunt in a statement.
Slow Horses is the first series since the launch of Apple TV+ to be renewed for Season 6, but it’s not the streamer’s longest-running show due to its low episode count, with six episodes per season. For All Mankind holds the record with 40 episodes across four seasons, and it’s already been renewed for Season 5.
