It’s only been a few days since the latest season of Slow Horses concluded its run – and there’s more where that came from! The acclaimed spy drama led by the Oscar winner Gary Oldman has officially been renewed for its fifth season by Apple TV+.
Apple TV+ describes Slow Horses as “a darkly humorous espionage drama that follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 known un-affectionately as Slough House.”
This spy thriller is based on Mick Herron’s Slough House book series, and the fifth season will draw inspiration from his book Spook Street. It will mark the return of many fan favorites, including Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, Kristin Scott Thomas as Diana Taverner, Jack Lowden as River Cartwright, and Christopher Chung as Roddy Ho.
Season 5 will see the resident tech nerd Roddy Ho find a glamorous new girlfriend, leaving everyone suspicious – especially after a series of increasingly bizarre events occur across the city, forcing Slow Horses to work out how everything is connected.
The fourth season of Slow Horses is currently in development, and it’s expected to premiere on Apple TV+ in late 2024. Several new cast members are set to join the ensemble, including Hugo Weaving, Joanna Scanlan, and Ruth Bradley.
