Saturday Night Live will return for its historic 50th season this fall, and the roster of celebrities hosting new episodes has been unveiled. Ariana Grande, John Mulaney, and Michael Keaton are some of the stars tapped to host this iconic sketch comedy series when it returns for Season 50.
Season 50 will kick off on September 28, with the first-time host Jean Smart, who’s fresh off winning an Emmy for her role in Hacks. She’ll be joined by a musical guest Jelly Roll, and followed by comedian Nate Bargatze with musical guest Coldplay on October 5.
The list of Season 50 hosts will also include Ariana Grande, who’s promoting her new movie Wicked, Michael Keaton, who recently appeared in Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and stand-up comedian and former SNL writer John Mulaney. They’ll be joined by musical guests Stevie Nicks, Billie Eilish, and Chappell Roan.
The show’s landmark 50th season will mark a time of change for Saturday Night Live. Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim, and Jane Wickline have joined the cast, while Chloe Troast, Punkie Johnson, and Molly Kearney exited the show. Marcello Hernandez, Michael Longfellow, and Devon Walker have been promoted to the main cast.
In addition to airing regular episodes, SNL will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a live primetime special on February 16, 2025.
