Phoebe Waller-Bridge has been plotting her Tomb Raider series for Amazon Prime Video for quite some time, and it seems she finally found her Lara Craft. Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner is in negotiations to lead the next adaptation of the popular video game franchise.

Prime Video is yet to officially cast Turner as Lara Croft, but her chances are looking good, and the streamer is reportedly very close to finalizing the deal. Turner’s casting doesn’t come as a huge shocker after it was reported she was one of the actresses testing for the role just last month.

Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge developed this project under her overall deal with Amazon, and she can’t wait to get to work.

“If I could tell my teenage self this was happening I think she’d explode. Tomb Raider has been a huge part of my life and I feel incredibly privileged to be bringing it to television with such passionate collaborators, Lara Croft means a lot to me, as she does to many, and I can’t wait to go on this adventure,” said Waller-Bridge when this project was announced by Prime Video back in May.

Sophie Turner got her big break with the Emmy-nominated role of Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones. She went on to play a young Jean Grey/Phoenix in the X-Men film series and most recently appeared in TV shows The Staircase and Joan.
