The second season of Squid Game was a long time coming, and Netflix lovers welcomed it with open arms. Season 2 of the hit Korean drama debuted with 68 million views in its first four days of availability, scoring Netflix’s biggest TV debut in history.
The first season of Squid Game already holds the record for the most-watched show in Netflix history, with 1.65 billion hours viewed within its first 28 days on the platform. The second season is currently on the quest to join it on the list of Netflix’s most-watched seasons of television after scoring impressive first-week numbers.
Season 2 premiered on December 26, and attracted 68 million views in its first four days of availability. This helped it score Netflix’s biggest TV debut in history, breaking a record previously set by Wednesday, which debuted with 50.1 million views in 2022.
Season 2 saw Seong Gi-hun aka Player 456 returning to the arena three years after his victory, determined to take take revenge on the Front Man and end the game for good. Netflix already renewed the series for its third and final season, and they teased its 2025 return with a promo clip featuring a new killer doll named Chul-su.
