The Golden Globes will celebrate the best film and TV achievements of the past year in just a few weeks, and we finally know who’ll host the festivities. Stand-up comedian Jo Koy will serve as the master of the ceremonies at the upcoming Golden Globe Awards.

Koy will make his award show hosting debut at the Golden Globes, but he already has a pretty amazing track record in the world of stand-up comedy. He made quite a splash with his latest Funny is Funny World Tour, which grossed $29.4 million across 88 shows.

Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner, executive producers and showrunners of the 2024 Golden Globes, said they’re thrilled that Koy will help them bring the upcoming ceremony to life.

“Jo’s genuine brand of comedy is sure to entertain our honorees in the room at the Beverly Hilton and viewers at home. We are excited to work with him to make this year’s show laugh-out-loud from beginning to end,” said the duo in a joint statement.

The 81st Golden Globe Awards will return to The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California on January 7, 2024. Succession is the main contender in the TV field with nine nods, and it made history as the most-nominated show in a single year.
