“Star” is Set to Wrap-Up With a Movie

Queen Latifah, Sharlene Taulé, Jude Demorest, and Brittany O'Grady in "Star" (2016).

Don’t worry, Star fans. The show will be getting an encore.

In May, FOX announced that it would not be moving ahead with the series set in the music business, effectively cancelling it after three seasons.

The production, which was the brainchild of Lee Daniels who also created Empire, starred Jude Demorest, Brittany O’Grady, Ryan Destiny, Amiyah Scott, Queen Latifah, and Benjamin Bratt.

Following the cancellation, Daniels has now given fans hope of closure by confirming that the show will return in movie form.

“The bad news is that Star is not getting picked up for series… But the good news is that we’re going a movie of the week to wrap things up for y’all,” Daniels said in a video posted on Instagram. “We’re gonna make something real special for you to scream about with all of our cast members, even the dead ones.”

While we have no proposed date for the Star movie, at least our stars will be getting a final act.
