After running on Starz for two seasons, Shining Vale has reached its grand finale. Starz axed this horror-comedy series after two seasons and announced it would be removed from their streaming service by the end of the year

Shining Vale followed Pat and Terry Phelps (Courteney Cox and Greg Kinnear), who are trying to repair their broken marriage by leaving their cramped Brooklyn apartment behind. They decide to start a new life in an old mansion in Connecticut, only to find out that terrible atrocities have taken place there.

Sherilyn Fenn, Mira Sorvino, Merrin Dungey, Gus Birney, Dylan Gage, and Judith Light played supporting roles in this series alongside Cox and Kinnear.

Co-creator Jeff Astrof discussed the show’s cancelation in an interview with Variety. He said he’s grateful to Starz for allowing him to tell the saga of the Phelps for the past two seasons alongside Sharon Horgan, but expressed hope this series could continue elsewhere.

“I am crushed and deeply saddened by the news. For the actors, it has been a year since we wrapped, but I have been working on writing Season 3 up until I heard the news last week… I’m hoping another streamer picks the show up as we still have lots of stories to tell,” said Astrof.
