Stellan Skarsgard (Chernobyl) and Kyle Soller (101 Dalmation Street) are joining Diego Luna in Disney+’s Star Wars series based on the Cassian Andor character Luna played in Rogue One.

The pilot will be written by Tony Gilroy, the co-writer of Rogue One, and he’s set to helm several episodes with the series showrunner Stephen Schiff.

The untitled series will be about Luna’s Andor character during the early days of the Rebellion’s battle with the Empire. Alan Tudyk will reprise his role as deadpan droid K-2SO.

Disney+ previously indicated that the show would debut in 2021, but it’s now unknown as the coronavirus has slowed down production. The series was described as a “spy thriller” when it was announced last year.

In other Star Wars news, The Mandalorian has been a huge success for the network and a second season of the series, as well as a series that will focus on a young Obi Wan-Kenobi with Ewan McGregor reprising his role, is in the works.
