NBC gave the pilot order to the spin-off series Suits: L.A., and Stephen Amell recently landed the lead role in this project. He dropped some hints about this buzzy legal drama in a recent interview with Deadline, and opened up about his audition and chemistry reads with his co-stars.

Suits: L.A. has been developed for NBC by Victoria Mahoney, and it will star Amell as Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York who left his old life behind and moved to Los Angeles, where he reinvented himself as a successful criminal and entertainment attorney.

Amell dropped some hints about this project in a recent interview with Variety and said that the script is great. He described his co-stars Lex Scott Davis and Josh McDermitt as sensational and said they had amazing chemistry reads.

Amell also said he’s really excited to start filming the pilot, which will kick off production in Vancouver, Canada later this month.

“I’m trying to focus on what is directly in front of me, and what’s directly in front of me is a pilot script with more words per page than I have said in my entire career, by a factor of five. I’m just going to be a bit of a nervous wreck until we actually get on set and start shooting,” he told Deadline.
