Glen Powell is getting ready to lead Hulu’s comedy series Chad Powers, and he’ll be in pretty good company. Steve Zahn joined this promising project in the role of the charismatic football coach of the titular character.

Chad Powers is based on the character created by Eli Manning for his EPSN+ docuseries Eli’s Places. He’s coming on board as one of the executive producers alongside Michael Waldron and Glen Powell, who co-created this series.

Powell will also lead the cast as a hotshot quarterback Russ Holliday, whose college career comes to an abrupt end due to his bad behavior. Instead of leaving it all behind, he decides to disguise himself and walks onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers.

Zahn joined the series as Jake Hudson, described as “the charismatic head coach of a flagging college football program”, who’s “about to be put out to pasture when along comes the talented oddball Chad Powers – and with him, one last shot at glory.”

Zahn adds Chad Powers to an impressive list of TV projects he starred in recent years. He scored his first Emmy nomination for the first season of HBO’s The White Lotus and went on to appear in George & Tammy and The Righteous Gemstones
