Suits found new global fame after hitting Netflix last year, and the rumors about a potential revival or spin-off have been circling around ever since. NBC finally made things official and ordered the pilot for Suits: L.A., with Victoria Mahoney on board to direct it.

The original series was set in New York, while this spin-off would take us to a brand-new location – Los Angeles. It wouldn’t exactly be a reboot or revival, but the next chapter of the Suits story, which centers on new characters, while leaving the door open for the original cast members to reprise their roles.

According to the show’s official logline, this spin-off would follow Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor who left New York to represent the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. He is surrounded by a stellar group of attorneys, but he’s forced to embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career after his firm reaches a crisis point.

Victoria Mahoney will direct and executive produce the pilot, with the original Suits creator Aaron Korsh coming on board as executive producer alongside David Bartis, Doug Liman, and Gene Klein. The production will kick off this March, with Vancouver, Canada standing in for Los Angeles.
