Nielsen has finally unveiled their year-end streaming chart for 2023, revealing the most streamed shows of the past year. Suits set a new record for the number of minutes watched in a single year, while Ted Lasso emerged as the most-watched original of the past year.

Suits experienced a true renaissance after becoming available on Netflix and Peacock last year, topping Nielsen streaming ratings charts for a record 12 weeks. It wasn’t a shocker to see it top the year-end chart, as well, but it also managed to set a major record along the way.

With 57.7 billion total minutes watched in 2023, this legal drama is the most-streamed show in a single year. It narrowly broke the record previously held by the NBC sitcom The Office with 57.1 billion minutes of viewership accumulated in 2020.

As for the rest of the top five, Bluey on Disney+ (43.9 billion minutes watched), NCIS on Netflix/Paramount + (39.4 billion), Grey’s Anatomy on Netflix (38.6 billion), Cocomelon on Netflix (36.3 billion) also made the cut.

The top 10 list consisted entirely of acquired programs, but Nielsen also released a separate list of the most-streamed original shows. Ted Lasso led the way for Apple TV+ with a total of 16.9 billion minutes, ahead of Netflix’s The Night Agent, Ginny & Georgia, Virgin River, and Love Is Blind.
