Part of us thought it would never end… but alas, it has.
The longest-running American sci-fi series ever, Supernatural, will eventually come to an end following its next season.
The brothers Winchester have been dealing with demons, ghouls, and things that go bump in the night since 2015 when The CW was still The WB.
Despite receiving less than favorable ratings of late, the series has become a firm cult classic and catapulted its stars, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, to household names.
The pair, along with Misha Collins, broke the news to fans on Friday that the show’s upcoming 15th season would be its last.
“We just told the crew that though we’re very, very excited about moving into our 15th season, it will be our last,” Jensen said in the video posted on Jared’s Twitter.. “Fifteen years of a show that has certainly changed my life… And we just wanted you to hear from us that though we’re excited about next year, it will be the finale. The big, grand finale of an institution.”
With just 20 more episodes to go, it’s all feeling a bit… supernatural.
