After playing a key role in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, Tatanka Means is gearing up for his next high-profile project. He’ll play a recurring role in the Netflix drama series Ransom Canyon, based on Jodi Thomas’ book series of the same name.
The streaming giant initially announced this series last December and described it as “a romance-fueled family drama and contemporary western saga that charts the intersecting lives of three ranching families, all set against the rugged expanse of Texas Hill Country.”
Josh Duhamel(Transformers) and Minka Kelly(Euphoria) were cast in the lead roles – as Staten Kirkland, the steadfast and stoic owner of the sprawling Double K Ranch, and Quinn O’Grady, a lavender farmer who came back to Ransom Canyon after trying to pursue a career as a concert pianist in New York.
Means will join them in the role of Jake Longbow, Staten’s ranch manager and confidant. He is used to his gruff exterior after decades of friendship, which will be tested once he brings the young Lucas Russell (Garrett Wareing) on board.
Means is attached to several highly-anticipated projects, including Wind River: The Next Chapter and Opus, also starring Ayo Edebiri, John Malkovich, and Murray Bartlett. On the TV side, his list of credits includes guest roles in Reservation Dogs, FBI: Most Wanted, and The Night Shift.
