Tatiana Maslany has finally found her next project after Orphan Black — and she’ll only be playing one character this time.
The 33-year-old earned much critical acclaim — and an Emmy Award — for portraying Sarah Manning, Cosima Niehaus, Alison Hendrix, and a bunch of other characters in the BBC America series about clones.
Now, Tatiana will be joining HBO as the lead in a series about another strong female.
She will be playing Sister Alice, the leader of the Radiant Assembly of God, in Perry Mason. As an entertainer, politician, and God’s conduit to the City of Angels, Sister Alice wields great power when she speaks, and plans to use it in ways only she can know.
Tatiana will star alongside Matthew Rhys who plays the titular character, with the limited series following the origins of American fiction’s most legendary criminal defense lawyer.
Robert Downey Jr. and his wife, Susan Downey, will serve as executive producers on the project.
