After getting his big break with his role in Ted Lasso, Phil Dunster is gearing up for another collaboration with its co-creator Bill Lawrence. He’ll star in his upcoming HBO comedy series, led by The Office star Steve Carell.

This high-profile project still doesn’t have a title, but its official logline describes it as a ten-episode, single-camera show “set on a college campus, centering on an author’s complicated relationship with his daughter.” Steve Carell was the only actor attached to this project when it was first announced, and Dunster is the first supporting player to join him.

Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses wrote the pilot episode for HBO, and they’re serving as the show’s executive producers alongside Carell and Lawrence’s Doozer Productions partners Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer. Warner Bros. Television serves as the studio, and they’re developing this project as a part of their overall deals with Lawrence and Tarses.

This HBO series will reunite Lawrence with Phil Dunster, who rose to prominence while playing the self-absorbed up-and-coming soccer player Jamie Tartt in the hit series Ted Lasso. He received an Emmy nomination for his performance, in addition to receiving the SAG Award for the outstanding ensemble in a comedy series with the rest of the cast.
