Most young comedians dream about hosting Saturday Night Live one day, and it’s finally Ayo Edebiri’s time to hit that iconic stage! Shortly after sweeping multiple awards for her performance in The Bear, Edebiri will host SNL alongside musical guest Jennifer Lopez.

Edebiri will make her SNL debut on February 3, following in the footsteps of Saltburn’s Jacob Elordi and Madame Web’s Dakota Johnson. She’s fresh off winning a Golden Globe, Critics Choice Award, and Emmy – all within a single week—for her breakout performance in the acclaimed FX dramedy The Bear.

This isn’t the only hit series Edebiri starred in last year. She also made guest appearances on Black Mirror and Abbott Elementary and did voice work on Clone High, in addition to appearing in several hit films including Theater Camp, Bottoms, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.

Despite being a newcomer to SNL, Edebiri will feel right home on set – she previously hosted a comedy show with Ben Marshall, who’s now a member of the SNL comedy trio Please Don’t Destroy. She also has a great track record as a stand-up comedian and comedy writer, and she mostly focused on writing before getting her break with The Bear.
