The Peabody Awards nominations are finally in, and some of the most acclaimed TV series of the past year made the cut. The Bear and The Last of Us are among the major contenders in the entertainment field, along with Fellow Travelers, Reservation Dogs, and Jury Duty.

Jeffrey Jones, executive director of Peabody, said they’re dedicated to honoring the most compelling stories across the media landscape and praised this year’s nominees for crafting bold stories that continue to inspire us and challenge us to do better.

“Each of the 68 nominees this year deserve to be recognized for telling unique stories that leave a profound impact in capturing our imaginations. From exposing injustice to capturing the struggles and triumphs of inspirational figures across the world, these extraordinary nominees demonstrate the power and beauty of compelling storytelling,” said Jones in a statement.

The list of nominees this year covers television, podcasts/radio, news, documentary, arts, children’s/youth, public service, and multimedia programming categories, but the one that piqued our interest is the entrainment field.

FX’s The Bear, HBO’s The Last of Us, Showtime’s Fellow Travelers, and Amazon Freeve’s Jury Duty made the cut in this category. The list of contenders also includes Netflix’s Blue Eye Samurai, Lupin, and The Fall of the House of Usher, Prime Video’s Dead Ringers, Peacock’s Poker Face, FX’s Reservation Dogs, and HBO’s Somebody Somewhere and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, along with the film Reality.
