After two delightful seasons on Apple TV+, the comedy series The Big Door Prize is closing shop. Chris O’Dowd is leaving the whimsical town of Deerfield and its residents behind after the streaming giant announced they won’t be renewing this series for Season 3.

O’Dowd led this series as Dusty Hubbard, a cheerful family man and high school teacher who’s forced to question if he’s truly happy as he once thought after a mysterious machine appears in his town, promising its residents a chance to reveal their true life potential.

While Dusty remains skeptical of the machine, many Deerfield natives welcome it with open arms, but its magical powers also force them to reconcile with their unfulfilled achievements in pursuit of a better future.

In addition to O’Dowd, the cast of this series also included Gabrielle Dennis, Ally Maki, Josh Segarra, Damon Gupton, Crystal Fox, Djouliet Amara, and Sammy Fourlas.

The decision to cancel it comes just two weeks after Season 2 ended its run on a cliffhanger on June 12. David West Read served as its writer and creator, and he executive produced it alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Miky Lee, Young Kyu Kim, Hyun Park, Bill Bost, and Sarah Walker.
