The upcoming fifth season of The Boys will serve as its swan song, and none of our favorite characters will be safe when this show comes back. Eric Kripke dropped hints about what’s to come in Season 5, and warned fans that “there will probably be lots of death.”

Kripke discussed the show’s final chapter in a recent interview with Total Film, and said he feels a lot of pressure to stick the landing and end the show on a high note.

“There’s no guarantee of who’s gonna survive because we don’t have to keep them for another season, so you can have really shocking, big things happen all the time. And so, as the writers, as we’re starting to cook it up, we’re really enjoying that,” Kripke told Total Film.

Kripke also said that he’s grateful to Amazon for allowing them to end the show on their own terms because it’s always been his plan to wrap up the story after five seasons.

Even after the mothership series ends, The Boys franchise will continue its life through several spin-offs, including Gen V and the recently announced prequel Vought Rising starring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash as Soldier Boy and Stormfront.
