The Boys is one of the biggest hits that launched on Amazon Prime Video since its inception, and its future is looking bright. The Boys will be back in town for another year after the streaming giant officially announced they’re renewing the superhero satire for Season 5.

Vernon Sanders, head of television of Amazon MGM Studios, announced the show’s renewal during a recent Upfront presentation and said they’re proud to see this series growing into a global franchise.

“The Boys is an unabashed and bold series that continues captivating our customers all over the world by piercing the cultural fabric season after season… We are thrilled that Eric Kripke and the creative team have more engaging stories to tell for all the loyal fans,” said Sanders in a statement.

Showrunner Eric Kripke thanked Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios for renewing this series on behalf of its cast and crew, adding they can’t wait to continue telling this story for another season.

The Boys centers on a group of vigilantes led by their fearless leader Billy Butcher, trying to expose the corrupt superhero team The Seven, who are constantly abusing their powers. Their mission will continue in the upcoming Season 4, set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 13.
