A new superhero is set to be introduced in season two of Amazon Prime’s The Boys.
The new superhero is named “Stormfront” and is played by You’re the Worst star Aya Cash. She will be introduced as the newest member of the Seven.
“She’s the grenade that gets thrown into Homelander’s world and the world of the Seven,” Homelander actor Antony Starr told Entertainment Weekly. “She really causes me so many problems.”
Stormfront appears in the comic books the series is based on. In the comics, the character is male and is a cross between Thor and Shazam! In the televised adaptation of the comics, Stormfront will be a woman.
“I think Stormfront is like a nuclear bomb that goes off in the Seven,” Cash explained. “Maybe nuclear bomb isn’t the right word. We’re in Chernobyl. There you go. It’s a Chernobyl thing.
“I think she’s here to blow up Vought. She’s here to try to get Vought back to the original idea behind creating superheroes… And she can be quite the feminist. There’s a lot of, I wouldn’t say misdirect, but she also is a very empowered woman.”
The Boys season two will be released in July 2020.
