Most network shows had to cut their latest seasons short in the face of the dual strikes in Hollywood last year – and then there’s All American. The CW sports drama is getting an order for additional episodes ahead of Season 6, which will now feature 15 episodes.

All American is loosely based on the life of professional football player Spencer Paysinger, and it centers on a rising high school football star Spencer James. His world turns upside down when he’s recruited to play for Beverly Hills High, and his new life collides with his upbringing in the Crenshaw neighborhood in South Los Angeles.

Daniel Ezra leads the ensemble of this series, while the supporting cast includes Bre-Z, Greta Onieogou, Samantha Logan, Cody Christian, Karimah Westbrook, Monét Mazur, Chelsea Tavares, Michael Evans Behling, and Jalyn Hall.

The first five seasons of All American ranged between 16-20 episodes, and The CW will be able to stick to a similar number in Season 6. The upcoming season was initially supposed to feature 13 episodes, but the network decided to extend it to 15.

This decision makes total sense since The CW’s flagship drama is bringing many changes our way in Season 6. It will see Spencer James prepare for the next big step in his football career – the NFL draft.
