The Drew Barrymore Show has grown into one of the most popular talk shows in recent years, and CBS is betting big on its future. The syndicated daytime talk show has received an early Season 6 renewal ahead of its upcoming fifth season.

Hosted by the acclaimed actress Drew Barrymore, this talk show went through major format changes this season, but that didn’t hurt its chances for an early renewal. It even received time slot upgrades in five of the top ten markets, after averaging 1.1 million viewers and nearly 6 billion minutes watched this past season.

Wendy McMahon, president and CEO of CBS News and Stations and CBS Media Ventures, announced the show’s early renewal and described it as “no other series in daytime.”

“Drew is a one-of-a-kind talent who is an integral part of the CBS and Paramount family. This early renewal and upgrades are a testament to our commitment to The Drew Barrymore Show and its loyal audience, who tune in every day to see Drew’s warmth, inquisitiveness, and spontaneity,” said McMahon in a statement.

The show’s renewal was announced ahead of its return for Season 5 on September 9, and the first round of guests is yet to be announced.
