Many of The CW’s shows ended up on the chopping block in recent years, but one of them was lucky enough to find a new home. After The CW announced their decision to shelve The Librarians: The Next Chapter, TNT saved the day by picking it up instead.
The Librarians: The Next Chapter will star Callum McGowan as Vikram, a Librarian from the past, who finds himself stuck in the present, and must form a new team of Librarians to help him out after inadvertently releasing magic across the continent.
Brad Schwartz, president of entertainment at The CW, announced the show’s move to TNT and said they’re incredibly proud to have worked alongside Dean Devlin and the entire team at Electric Entertainment on this chapter of The Librarians franchise.
“We are thrilled that the series’ original network TNT loves it as much as we do and saw great value in bringing it to their audience. It’s a first for CW Studios and we cannot wait for fans to experience this incredible next chapter,” said Schwartz in a statement.
In addition to McGowan, this spin-off series will also star Jessica Green, Olivia Morris, and Bluey Robinson, and TNT is yet to announce its release date.
