The first season of Disney+’s The Mandalorian was such a success that it was renewed for Season 2 and people can’t seem to get enough of Baby Yoda.

Showrunner Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Deborah Chow, and Rick Famuyiwa spoke about shooting the first season and how they kept Baby Yoda a secret in a pre-recorded panel at the ATX Television Festival.

Howard said her young children were on set and that her children’s fascination with the Child inspired the iconic soup-sipping moment. “What a miracle that with all the kids on the set and how fixated they were, that the secret never came out that the baby was in the series at all,” Favreau said. “I would remind my kids every day once they were going to school, ‘What do we not talk about? Baby!’,” Howard said.

The secret of Baby Yoda managed to remain hidden, but in regards to the second season we know that Timothy Olyphant will have a role, Rosario Dawson will play icon Clone Wars character Ahsoka Tano, and that Temuera Morrison will bring Boba Fett back from Sarlacc Pit.

Other details have remained secret, but Favreau said that despite the coronavirus production shutdown, Season 2 will be delivered as promised in October.
