The Office spin-off series will kick off production pretty soon, and it’s slowly rounding out its cast. Melvin Gregg, Chelsea Frei, and Ramona Young landed key roles in this reboot series led by Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore.

According to its official logline, this series will follow “the documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch in search of a new subject when they discover a dying historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it with volunteer reporters.”

It’s not a direct reboot or spin-off, but a different show set in the same universe, developed under the working title The Paper. It hails from The Office creator Greg Daniels, who co-created it alongside Michael Koman (Nathan for You).

When this reboot was first announced, Domhnall Gleeson (The Patient) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) were cast in the lead roles, and they’ll be in pretty good company. Melvin Gregg (Nine Perfect Strangers), Chelsea Frei (The Moodys), and Ramona Young (Never Have I Ever) will join them in supporting roles.

The news about the casting of Gregg, Frei, and Young broke after The Palisadian-Post in Pacific Palisades, CA confirmed they’ve been shadowing the reporters of this 96-year-old bi-weekly local newspaper as a part of the research for their roles.
