The disastrous season 9 of Roseanne left fans feeling confused and unsatisfied. Over 20 years later, a reboot has been released and the creators have a lot of making up to do. New storylines, relationships, and characters are expected in order to keep the 90’s sitcom afloat.
What About the Beckys?
The show flipped between two actresses for Becky, but it seems that both of the actresses wanted to be included in the reboot. The original Becky, Lecy Goranson, wanted her replacement, Sarah Chalke, to have a place on set. The only question is, how?
Relationships That Just Couldn’t Last
Becky’s husband, Mark, was casually written off the show because the actor passed away from a suspected drug overdose in 2002. The show is very vague about how Mark died, but they make it clear that Becky is having a hard time dealing with his passing.
Another major thing leaving fans questioning is the relationship between David and Darlene. The couple has two children, but the fact that Darlene is living at home shows they are no longer together.
Many missing characters are leaving huge plot holes, including DJ’s wife and Jackie’s child, Andy. Although the show tries to make up storylines for these missing characters, no effort has been made to make them have an appearance on the reboot.
