“A great many changes” are coming to Buckingham Palace as the Queen says in the latest trailer for The Crown.
That is including the Queen herself.
Claire Foy portrayed the head of the monarchy for the first two seasons of the Netflix series, but will now make way for The Favourite star Olivia Colman.
The Oscar winner will play Queen Elizabeth during the ‘60s and ‘70s as Britain faces the Cold War panic and the space age.
The new teaser makes a cheeky reference to the Queen’s new depiction as a woman in her ‘40s.
“Everyone is delighted with the new profile, ma’am, which they feel to be an elegant reflection of Her Majesty’s transition from young woman to…” an advisor starts.
“Old bat?” Colman’s character interjects.
Season 3 of the hit show premieres on Netflix on November 17th, with filming on season 4 already underway.
