AMC’s The Walking Dead franchise is still alive and well, and its latest installment made quite a splash. The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live drew in impressive numbers with its first episode, scoring the biggest premiere night audience for a new AMC series in six years.

The Ones Who Live reunited us with two of the most beloved The Walking Dead heroes – Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes and Danai Gurira’s Michonne. Changed by a world that is constantly changing, they must do whatever it takes to win a war against the dead before it’s too late.

This spin-off debuted on AMC on February 25 and knocked it out of the park from the get-go. In addition to scoring the biggest AMC debut for a new series since The Terror in 2018, The Ones Who Live did pretty well on streaming and its first episode became the most-watched episode of any show ever on AMC+.

The Ones Who Live showrunner Scott M. Gimple reflected on the show’s early success and thanked the leading duo for making it possible.

“Danai and Andy’s mind-blowing work in front of and behind the camera, along with the efforts of a truly wonderful cast and crew was all for an audience we asked to believe just a little bit longer. We’re grateful they did,” said Gimple in a statement.
