Maisie Williams in "Game of Thrones"

Game of Thrones may be set in a sexist world, but that does not prevent countless female characters from rising up the ranks and showing Westeros what they are made of. Here are the fiercest women of the show ranked from “would probably kill for you” to “would tear up an entire town.”

Series spoilers ahead.

10. Shae

Despite Tyrion’s constant warnings that she had “come to a dangerous place,” Shae remains fearless throughout her time in King’s Landing. She is particularly fierce when it comes to her love for Tyrion and protecting Sansa Stark.

9. Yara Greyjoy

Yara Greyjoy risked her life to save her brother Theon from Ramsey Bolton’s clutches. She is a badass captain and Iron Born through and through.

8. Catelyn Stark

Catelyn Stark may seem like a typical lady at first, but when it comes to protecting her children, her ferocity knows no bounds.

7. Olenna Tyrell

Olenna’s fiery tongue keeps her enemies on her toes. It was Olenna who conjured a plan to kill the unbearable usurper Joffrey.

6. Lyanna Mormont

Lyanna Mormont is devoted to the Starks and to protecting the North. She goes to extreme lengths to protect her people and dies single-handedly offing an undead giant in the Battle of Winterfell.

5. Cersei Lannister

Cersei has no remorse, especially when it comes to protecting her children. She does not care for the poor and will go to great extremes to retain Lannister power.

4. Ygritte

Ygritte is the fiery wildling who took out many men of the Night’s Watch before she was shot down by an arrow. Fearless and skilled with a bow and arrow, Ygitte ended up being Jon Snow’s unlikely match.

3. Brienne of Tarth

Brienne of Tarth, or rather Ser Brienne of Tarth, is extremely loyal and will do whatever needs to be done to keep her oath to Catelyn Stark. This includes defeating The Hound in single combat.

2. Daenerys Targaryen

Daenerys is impossibly fierce, especially when she is riding on the back of a dragon. She shows little mercy to her enemies, both those at King’s Landing and the masters in Yunkai and Slaver’s Bay.

1. Arya Stark

Arya Stark may be small but she never gives up. Time and time again she is beaten down and made to suffer, but she never stops fighting. It is her ferocious and determined nature that saves Westeros from the wrath of the White Walkers.
