These Three Actors Nominated Themselves for Emmys

Gwendoline Christie in "Game of Thrones"

32 nominations for this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards belong to Game of Thrones, and of those, three belong to truly great actors.

Gwendoline Christie, Alfie Allen, and Carice van Houten were all nominated for awards in the respective categories of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, and Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.

It has now been revealed that the trio nominated themselves for the awards.

It is standard practice for the network (in this case, HBO) to submit actors in the respective categories which they did for Maisie Williams, Lena Headey, Sophie Turner, Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Peter Dinklage, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, all of whom were nominated.

However, Christie, Allen, and Van Houten all knew they had done fantastic work on GOT’s final season and entered themselves, paying the $225 submission fee from their own pockets.

The nominations are all well-deserving, and we’ll see who if their boldness paid off on September 22nd!
