Several amazing actors joined Percy Jackson and the Olympians in recent weeks, and it turns out the casting process isn’t over yet. Veep alum Timothy Simons is the latest addition to the cast of the Disney+ fantasy series after landing a recurring guest star role.

Based on Rick Riordan’s beloved book series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians centers on the young demigod and son of Poseidon, as he embarks on epic missions while coming to terms with his newfound powers. Season 2 will be based on Riordan’s book The Sea of Monsters, and it will see Percy return to Camp Half-Blood after the events of the first season.

Simons joined the cast as Tantalus, described as “sardonic, manipulative, openly hostile, and rarely in a good mood… seeing as he is cursed with eternal hunger and thirst, but can never eat or drink.” After being released from imprisonment in the Underworld, he replaces Chiron as the new Activities Director at Camp Half-Blood.

Simons will star alongside the leading trio, Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri, and he’s one of several newcomers joining the show in Season 2. Sandra Bernhard, Kristen Schaal, and Margaret Cho have been cast as the Grey Sisters, while Daniel Diemer will play Tyson the Cyclops.
