The Primetime Emmy Awards contenders will finally be announced this month, and the Television Academy shared some details about the nomination ceremony. Tony Hale and Sheryl Lee Ralph will do us the honor of announcing the nominations this year.

Hale and Ralph will set the tone for the upcoming Emmy Awards from Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre on July 17, when they’ll announce this year’s nominee. The announcement ceremony will stream live on the Emmys official website and social media channels.

Hale and Ralph will be joined by the Television Academy chair Cris Abrego, who’s delighted to see there has been an abundance of remarkable programs and extraordinary performances, despite many challenges their industry faced this past year.

“Great television relies on the contributions of so many, and we are delighted to have Tony and Sheryl help us acknowledge excellence across our field as we embark on a season of tremendous celebration,” said Abrego in a statement.

Hale is the three-time Emmy-winning star of the HBO comedy Veep, and he’ll next appear in Netflix’s The Decameron. Ralph currently stars in ABC’s workplace comedy Abbott Elementary, which won her an Emmy Award for best supporting actress in a comedy series.

The 2024 Primetime Emmy Awards will take place on September 15 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
