The Neighborhood is one of the most beloved sitcoms that CBS has in store, and it was just a matter of time before they expanded this universe. That moment has finally arrived, and Tracy Morgan is getting ready to lead the upcoming spin-off series Crutch.

30 Rock star Tracy Morgan will lead this series as the titular hero Francois “Frank” Crutchfield aka “Crutch”, a Harlem widower who’s forced to put his empty-nest plans on hold after his millennial son and free-spirited daughter decide to move back home.

Owen Smith wrote the pilot for this spin-off after collaborating with Morgan and The Neighborhood star Cedric the Entertainer on The Last O.G. Morgan has previously made a cameo in The Neighborhood as the younger brother of Cedric’s character, but he’s expected to play his cousin in the new spin-off.

Morgan promised this series offers plenty of laughs and said he’s looking forward to joining forces with the amazing creative team behind it.

Crutch will be navigating the ups and downs of having his kids and grandkids back under one roof… I am so happy to be able to do this with my brother Cedric the Entertainer, Owen Smith, and the rest of the amazing crew we have put together,” said Morgan in a statement.
