Ryan Murphy is no stranger to stunt casting, and his new series Grotesquerie will continue this trend. The Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelce landed a major role in this horror series, which will mark his first major acting role.

Murphy teased his latest FX series by dropping a cryptic trailer back in February, which announced the casting of Niecy Nash, Courtney B. Vance, and Lesley Manville. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the first teaser gave us some hints about the story.

A phone call monologue delivered by Niecy Nash mentions “they sent shrinks for everyone who worked this crime scene” and sees her struggling to make sense of it, hinting there will be a gruesome murder at the center of this series.

Nash teased Kelce’s casting by sharing a video that she opened by saying, “Guys, guess who I am working with in Grotesquerie?” before panning over to Kelce. He added that he’s “Stepping into new territory with Niecy,” but didn’t share any details about his character.

Kelce has been trying to break into entrainment in recent years, and this isn’t the only project he has lined up. He also hosted Saturday Night Live, produced indie film My Dear Friend Zoe, and was recently tapped to host the game show Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?
