We’ve seen many music stars share documentaries and concert films based on their work, but Usher came up with a new way to bring his music to the masses. The R&B superstar is plotting a drama series about Black love in Atlanta, which draws inspiration from his impressive music catalog.

The eight-time Grammy winner is fresh off knocking it out of the park with his Super Bowl halftime performance, and he’s already plotting his next big project. Usher joined forces with UCP to develop a drama series inspired by his music.

“My 30-year catalog has resonated with so many people no matter where they were in their lives. I’m happy to be working with UCP to bring the music to life. I hope the series resonates with you the way my music continues to,” he said in a statement.

The untitled series is expected to explore music, style, romance, and secrets that threaten to tear relationships apart while focusing on a group of individuals looking to find a place to call home in Atlanta.

It’s unclear if Usher would also star in this series, but we wouldn’t be surprised. His filmography includes several movie and TV projects, including cameos in hit films Hustlers and Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping and the FXX series Dave.
