‘Veronica Mars’ Gets Revival at Hulu With Kristen Bell to Reprise Her Role

Kristen Bell and Percy Daggs III in Veronica Mars (2004)

Veronica Mars starring Kristen Bell is making another comeback as an eight-episode limited series at Hulu, according to Deadline.

The Rob Thomas’ cult favourite noir mystery drama revolves around Mars as she progressed from high school to college, all the while solving mysteries with her father, private investigator Keith Mars.

The series, which lasted for only three seasons from 2004 to 2007, earned praise from critics and a huge fanbase who played an important role in the succeeding Veronica Mars movie. Thomas and Bell raised $3.7 million in a matter of hours and the movie featuring a number of other original cast members was released by Warner Bros. in 2014.

The show also got a spinoff web series, Play It Again, Dick, featuring series co-star Ryan Hansen working to stage a Dick Casablancas-centered take on Veronica Mars. Sadly, it only lasted one season which was released on the CW’s Seed digital platform.

Hulu is the second streaming service to order a limited series revival of a favorite CW series. Recently, Netflix brought back Gilmore Girls for 4-episode series, also from the original creator.
