The future of Walker has been uncertain for quite some time, and The CW eventually decided to pull the plug. The action crime drama led by Jared Padalecki will conclude with its ongoing fourth season.
Inspired by the hit ’90s western Walker, Texas Ranger, this reboot stars Padalecki as Cordell Walker, who returns home to Austin after spending two years undercover and tries to reconnect with his children while growing increasingly suspicious of his wife’s death.
Rumors about the potential cancelation of Walker started circling around when The CW unveiled its fall schedule earlier this month. Walker wasn’t a part of the schedule, and its future became even more uncertain when the sets in Austin, Texas were dismantled in the face of a delay in Season 5 renewal, which never came to be.
The CW announced the show’s cancelation in an official statement and thanked its entire cast, crew, writers, directors, and producers for their hard work and dedication over four incredible seasons.
“We also want to give a special thanks to star and executive producer Jared Padalecki, who has been a member of The CW family for over 20 years and was integral to some of the biggest hits on the network,” reads the network’s official statement.
