The Walking Dead spinoff series World Beyond will arrive sooner than anticipated.

The spinoff series follows a group of teenagers who have spent their lives sheltered from the zombie apocalypse. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the series premiere on April 12 has been canceled. Fans feared that this might mean we have to wait another year for the show to air.

In a recent update, showrunner Matt Negrete has reassured fans that the delay won’t last long at all. In an Instagram post, he hinted that the show will land later this year.

“Today was the original premiere date of @twdworldbeyond which had to be pushed to later this year due to current events,” he wrote next to a picture of the cast chairs. “On the bright side, given how each day blends into the next, ‘later this year’ will be here before we know it.

“Til then, let’s all do what we can to stay safe and healthy look out for each other. Better days are coming.”

The Walking Dead: World Beyond will air on AMC. We will share the new release date when it is announced.
