The final season of The Crown took Netflix by storm earlier this month, but it couldn’t stand its ground to My Life with the Walter Boys. This teen drama continued its reign over the Netflix Top 10 and defeated the acclaimed royal saga to soar to No. 1 for its second week.

Walter Boys returned to no. 1 during the December 18-24 viewing window, with 7.6 million views. This is a significant drop for a teen drama, which premiered on Netflix on December 7 and attracted 12.8 million views during its first week of availability on this streaming service.

Despite experiencing a slight drop, Walter Boys managed to surpass The Crown, which returned for its grand finale on December 14. The royal series took the second spot on the English-language TV chart with 5.7 million views following the release of its final episodes.

My Life with the Walter Boys draws inspiration from Ali Novak’s coming-of-age novel of the same name and follows a recently orphaned girl who moves from Manhattan to rural Colorado following her parents’ sudden death.

Netflix renewed this series shortly after its premiere, and showrunner Melanie Halsall told Deadline that they’re planning to “spread our wings and fine little bit while still being true to Ali’s original story” in Season 2.
