Kenya Barris and Rashida Jones have an interesting take on parenting in the new Netflix comedy #blackAF.
#blackAF is loosely based on Barris’ own, unique parenting style, relationships, race, and culture and it’s nothing like we’d expect a family comedy series to be like. The series shows the messy, but still entertaining world of what it’s like to be a “new money” black family living in a modern world.
Barris created the ABC hit sitcom black-ish and he’ll be making his acting debut in the series. In addition to starring in the new show, Barris and Jones executive produced the series.
Iman Benson, Genneya Walton, Scarlet Spencer, Justin Claiborne, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, and Richard Gardenhire Jr. will also star in the series.
#blackAF will be released on April 17 and you can watch the trailer below.
