Watch the First Trailer For “The Handmaid’s Tale” Season 3

The first trailer for A Handmaids Tale Season 3 has landed and it looks like things are about to get even darker.

The trailer begins with an imitation of Ronald Reagan’s 1984 campaign advert Morning in America. This is the advert which inspired Margaret Atwood to write the novels which the TV series is adapted from.

“It’s morning again in America,” a man’s voice declares. “Today, more women are going to work than ever before in our country’s history.”

After a few more seconds of eerily chipper advertising, a set of flames appears on screen and Offred interrupts with: “Wake up, America. Morning’s over.”

If you can’t get enough of the series, don’t forget that Margaret Atwood also recently announced that she is working on another novel.

She shared on Twitter: “Yes indeed to those who asked: I’m writing a sequel to The #HandmaidsTale. #TheTestaments is set 15 years after Offred’s final scene and is narrated by three female characters”.

Season 3 is predicted to be released in April on Hulu. No exact date has been confirmed yet.
