There’s a lot of anticipation leading to the second season of Wednesday, and Netflix just added some more fuel to the fire. Our favorite goth teen will return in the second chapter of this coming-of-age mystery series, and Netflix shared the first look at Jenna Ortega after Season 2 officially wrapped production.
Wednesday sees its titular heroine trying to find her footing at the Nevermore Academy, a private school for young misfits with special powers. While trying to master her emerging psychic abilities, she must also uncover the secrets of the small town of Jericho, which can be traced decades into her parents’ past.
The second season of Wednesday was filmed throughout 2024 in Ireland, and it finally wrapped production this month. Netflix announced the happy news by sharing a photo of Jenna Ortega in character as Wednesday Addams, crossing her arms against a spooky backdrop, with her signature frown gracing her face.
Season 2 will also mark the return of supporting players Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Emma Myers, and Joy Sunday. They’ll be joined by Steve Buscemi, Thandiwe Newton, Billie Piper, Joanna Lumley, Noah Taylor, Christopher Lloyd, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Lady Gaga in supporting roles.
Wednesday will return to Netflix in 2025, and the streaming giant is yet to announce its official release date.
