The final frontier has arrived!

After months of rumors, it appears that the reboot of Mad About You is a go.

Helen Hunt recently said that there had been “zero developments” since 2018 when talk of a revival began and a showrunner was being sought.

The sentiment was echoed by her co-star Paul Reiser who claimed he was not optimistic about the show’s chances.

It seems a lot has changed in 6 months, however, as the revival has now been officially picked up by Spectrum Original for a 12 episode run.

We last said goodbye to Paul and Jamie Buchman in 1999, shortly after the New York City couple became parents. The revival is expected to focus on how they deal with empty-nest syndrome now that their daughter Mabel is all grown up.

“We are so excited to finally be doing this and thrilled to have Peter Tolan as our fearless captain,” Reiser and Hunt said in a joint statement. “We promise you the same funny and heartwarming show — as soon as we can remember what’s funny about being older. It’s going to be great!”

Hunt will direct the first episode of the series which is expected later this year.
