FX sealed the future of many of its beloved shows during a recent TCA virtual summer press tour, and fans of What We Do in the Shadows had a reason to celebrate. The critically acclaimed vampire mockumentary series is officially returning for Season 4.
Nick Grad, president of original programming at FX Entertainment, confirmed the show’s renewal, ahead of the third season premiere in September. “Fans can’t seem to get enough of What We Do in the Shadows and FX is ready to feed that appetite by setting up the series for a fourth season. Our thanks to the extraordinary job by the creative team, cast, and crew who keep making a great show better each season,” said Grad.
What We Do in the Shadows is based on the cult horror-comedy film of the same name, written and directed by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi. Clement created the series and serves as one of the executive producers alongside Waititi, but they only made cameos instead of fully returning to their original roles from the 2014 film. The series is set in Staten Island and centers on a new group of vampires, played by Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, and Natasia Demetriou.
